the past few years, as people like natural cures to their problems. Some essential oils are

fragrance oil packed with natural benefits.
The Lilac essential oil is derived from a plant called Syringa Vulgaris, which is grown in
Southern Iran and Eastern Europe. The oil is light purple and is derived from the leaves of
the above-mentioned plant.

How “Not-to-use” the Lilac essential oil?
Using it without doing a patch test.
As I mentioned earlier, always do a patch test on your arm before using any essential oil to
prevent allergies.
Why the patch test is necessary?
Many people will argue that the Lilac oil is not an all-natural oil. The reason behind
this argument is that this oil is not derived from the Lilac flower petals, because, they can
gather only a few drops from a ton of Lilac flower petals. So, the leaves are used to extract
fragrance, and that fragrance is mixed with another base oil. And off course, preservatives
are also added to ensure a longer shelf life. So it is possible that you may get allergic to the
base oil or the preservatives and not the Lilac oil itself.
Drinking the oil.
Do not consume this oil, with added preservatives it can be toxic.
If the Lilac essential oil is toxic, why was it used in the traditional medicines?
Herbal medicines had many ingredients that worked together to make a useful medicine in
the end. Traditional herbalists knew which ingredient will cut the toxic effects of the other
ingredient, and they can add how much of one certain oil to a medicine that it remained safe
to consume. So consuming the oil only will not be a smart choice.
Without diluting it.
Always use the Lilac oil after mixing it with another oil to prevent allergies and the
strong fragrance (if you are not a fan of strong smelling oils).
But, don’t worry, you can use the Lilac essential oil to relieve stress, to enhance mood, as an
air freshener, as a cleaning agent, as a bug repellant or simply as a body oil, just do not
drink it.
Hope you enjoyed the read.
